Ethiopia Can’t Stop Eagles – Agali -Ex-international Says Nigeria Has An Edge Former Super Eagles striker, Victor Okechukwu Agali has come out with a bold prediction that the Nigerian national team will emerged victorious in this mo9nth’s World Cup 2014 final qualification play-off against Ethiopia, because he believes the Walya Antelopes are no match for the African champions. Although ‘Okey Banana’ admitted the Eagles found it tough against same team during the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa, he insists the fact that Nigeria eventually won the match 2-0 and went on to claim the continental title for the third time in history gives them an edge against their impending hosts on October 13 in Addis Ababa. Agali said he is confident the Eagles will beat Ethiopia next weekend, but interjected that all-round teeming support from Nigerian soccer fans would play a huge role in helping the team make the best of both legs of play-offs and reach Brazil in 2014. “The coaches and the players need the support of all Nigerians in this crucial period. We must back the team to ensure that we qualify for our fifth World Cup. “It is not going to be easy, no doubt about that. For Ethiopia to have reached the final stage of the African qualifiers, it means that they have a good team. “But they are no match for the Eagles; we are the current African champions and invariably the best team in Africa. Besides, we have an intimidating record against them. “When we played them at the Africa Cup of Nations, we beat them 2-0. Though it was a difficult game, but it will give our players a psychological edge,” said the gangling ex-player, who starred in France, Germany, China and Turkey during his playing days.
