Ethiopia Striker Warns Eagles -Say Antelopes Will Shock Nigeria It sounds incredible but Ethiopia striker, Getaneh Kebede has warned that the Super Eagles should be ready to absorb a World Cup 2014 qualification shock, while revealing that the Walya Antelopes are ready to beat the African champions at home on October 13. Though the Eagles are mostly favoured by bookies to seal at ticket to Brazil 2014 at the expense of the lowly-rated Ethiopians, Getaneh has a different thought rolling through his mind and says he and his teammates are capable of pulling off a shock win in Addis Aba then wrap up the aggregate score during the second leg in Calabar on November 16. The former Debedit player is still basking in the revival of his career, after his days in the round leather game took better shape when he moved to the paid ranks in South Africa with Bidvest Wits, after impressing the PSL club’s coach, Gavin Hunt. Getaneh has been impressive with Wits, so far scoring four goals since putting pen to paper and earning rave reviews in South Africa where he is now a household name. Moving to South Africa meant Getaneh was unavailable for Ethiopia’s last game of the group stage in the qualifiers, but the team won in his absence and the attacker is now hoping to complement their efforts by adding his creativity and power against Nigeria. He is expected at the Wayla’s camp in Addis Ababa in the coming week to join the squad at InterContinental Hotel, as they prepare for the October 13 clash, ahead of which he has already declared that he is upbeat and ready for the do or die match. "Most pundits might already have given the game to Nigeria but it will be to their own detriment if they underrate us. It will be a tough game but we are determined to create history by doing what no one expects. “We are just two games away from the World Cup and we will give it our all to try and make our dreams come true. The team spirit in the Walya squad is amazing and everyone believes we can make it if we give 100 percent and are all determined to play our hearts. "I felt so bad when I missed the match against CAR but I was proud of my team mates who played their hearts out. It has been a long journey for us and sometimes it feels like a dream. “I’m fully recovered and fit once again and my thoughts are on our next match against Nigeria. We all know they are African champions and the last time we played against them in the 2013 AFCON they beat us and that is what we want to pay back to them," Getaneh said.
