#Ethiopia’s greats dominate #Manchester Run. Kenenisa Bekele, the fastest man in history on the track over 5,000m and 10,000m, beat the fastest #marathon man of all-time, Kenyan Wilson Kipsang, to win the #GreatManchesterRun in 28 minutes 23 seconds. This was the first ever meeting between the two great East African distance runners. #Kenenisa has not been beaten in a 10km road race since 2002! In the women’s elite race, Tirunesh Dibaba, the reigning Olympic and World 10,000m champion won in 31 minutes 09 seconds – 20 seconds outside the course record she set last year on her debut. Last month, #Tirunesh finished third in the London Marathon on her marathon debut. Great Britains Gemma Steel finished second and Kenya’s Polline Wanjiku finished third. Meanwhile, in #Shanghai, Yenew Alamirew and Hagos Gebrhiwet came in first and third place in the men’s 5,000m at the Shanghai #IAAF #DiamondLeague.
