Eugene Charles (Gene) Foltz, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 6, 2014, in Tallahassee, Fla. He was born in Washington, D.C., to Zelsbur and Margaret Foltz. Gene married Barbara Parlin in Hyattsville, Md., in 1953. After Genes service in the U.S. Army, the couple made their home in Fort Lauderdale, where Gene was a general contractor. The couple relocated to Tallahassee for Gene to join two of his brothers as a partner in Tri-State Supply Co. In recent years, if you wanted to find Gene, the first place to look was in his beautiful yard or vegetable garden. Throughout his life, Gene sought to serve his Lord Jesus Christ and share the love of God with neighbors, friends and family. He was a member of Celebration Baptist Church. Gene and Barbara were married for 61 years and were blessed with five children: Craig (Linda), Ron (Kim), Susan (Steve Trainor), Mark (Lisa) and Scott (Margie). Their eight grandchildren are Chris (Jessica), Cameron, Nicole (Aaron), Kyle (Channing), Jenny, Jonathan, Sarah and Logan. Gene is also survived by six of his nine siblings, Russell, Richard, Stan, Paul, David and Joyce. He was preceded in death by his parents and three siblings, Vernon, Viola and Irene. The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, March 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thomasville Road Baptist Church. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, March 12 at 10 a.m. at Celebration Baptist Church. Memorial donations may be made to Child Evangelism Fellowship of the Big Bend (bigbendcef.org; 850-878-1558). - See more at: legacy/obituaries/tallahassee/obituary.aspx?n=eugene-charles-foltz-gene&pid=170061955&fhid=12898#sthash.9zJlDuko.dpuf
