European Parliament: Equality between Women and Men in 2013: hearing - Committee on Womens Rights and Gender Equality lip-service and only lip-service but the results are: there isnt any balance in the gender equality, may it be the parliaments, government institutions, judiciary, and other semi government organizations, there are cosmetic-numbers of the women. Societies in the West often criticise over the lack of Women Empowerment in the global South, while their own societies are being governed by men-only KAC MEP Marc Tarabella Every year, FEMM committee adopts a report on Progress in equality between women and men in the EU. After the first exchange of views held on 24 September, the Public hearing on 13 October will serve as additional input to the work of the draftsperson, Mr Tarabella. Ms Genoveva Tisheva, Managing Director of the Bulgarian Gender Research Foundation, and Ms Claudia Menne, Confederal Secretary of the European Trade Union Confederation, will present their views namely on the issue of violence against women and on gender mainstreaming in public policies.
