In 1972, some 42 years ago, when I entered the Peshawar University Campus, the most enlightened and Secular person, Abdul Ali Khan (son of the Famous Bacha Khan) was the Vice Chancellor of the University.... the University had a main trunk Road... the Rd No. 1, all departments and colleges were lying on either side of the Road... the VC had a strange solution to restore moral normalcy... Boys and Girls will use different Footpaths... guards were posted to strictly implement the Gender Footpath Ruling ... (The famous Gender Magazine the Play Boy, had also published this story).... today when I pass through the Rd. no 1...I see hundreds of girls, fully clad in Burqas.... the University gives the looks more of a Religious Seminary. Even the most Secular person is capable to serve you in a most religious manner.... Shared..
