Even if you disregard the patently obvious rhetorical statement, You would think the supposedly pro-life party would be happy to put the power of the government behind keeping pregnant women and unborn babies safe and healthy, who, then, is empowered to permit only those potential parents that can afford to raise children to do so? How many biographies, news articles and television programs seen by us all that describe the substantial childhood social and financial hardships overcome by so many people? And how many of us have been thrilled and inspired by those same people as they climb to great success in business, sports, politics, science, the arts, and many other life-paths? The whole point of insurance, is, obviously, coverage, so that when we incur costs that we cannot pay all at once, the larger pool is able to cover those expenses. Otherwise, why have insurance? The alternative is to permit the rich to have children, drive vehicles, and purchase real property. Which is probably what those conservatives are thinking anyway...
