Even though she was in Konoha now, Raita was still a Samurai; - TopicsExpress

Even though she was in Konoha now, Raita was still a Samurai; always would be by heart, and mind. Six years in the village; and she was still just getting used to the place. The Land of Iron was a cold, and snow-covered country; Samurai were the prominent militant force-- a force that she was apart of. Konoha was a .. well-- it was very warm; and filled with laughs and smiles. Something that still unnerved her. How can these people be so happy, as if they had no care in the world? She would never understand this village, or the next ninja village. Even though she was the literal opposite of the spirit of this country, she couldnt really leave-- the process to go back to the Land of Iron was a really long one; and it involved paperwork. Paperwork that she would not do. ...... Raita, for the first time actually looked irritated. Finally, she mentally thought; almost narrowing her brownish-silver eyes at the wooden door of her house. She closed it behind her; releasing a rather long sigh; glad to be out of the crowd. The people in this village needed to stop reproducing-- it seemed like more and more every day; that the streets got more crowded with faces and bodies-- people that she had no desire to interact with. She moved her hands to around her neck; removing her ninja headband and placing it on the table in her living room alongside her konoha flak vest. The woman reached into her pocket; tying her hair up into a ponytail-- walking further into her house. She made a right; entering her room; looking at the wall opposite of her bed where her swords hung in display. She walked to it; taking the katana that was around her waist; and placing it among the ones that was on the wall. Raita sighed; touching the top one; and taking it off the wall. She held her wakazashi in both hands; unsheathing the blade. This was her prized weapon; what she used the most. Because she was skilled in chakra usage; she didnt need the katana all the time because the Samurai Sabre Technique would make up for the lack of power and range a katana had. Its been even a long time since shes used that technique as well. Even as she tried so much to make herself comfortable in Konoha; everything reminded her of home. Home. A word that seemed foreign even to her now.. The irritated expression she had, vanished; instead replaced with an unreadable one-- even to herself. Through the blade; she saw her reflection. She saw her own eyes; but from the blade-- they only looked more intense. Actually-- they looked a different color. Nani? She blinked; seeing her regular eye color again. She sheathed her weapon back; and placed it on the wall. She could have sworn that her eyes had changed to an ice cold blue. Maybe it was because of ... well-- /that/ thing. The thing that has been running through her family. Every so two or three generations; there would be a few of her clan members that experience eyesight loss. No one knew why. And when it happened; it was often reported that the eye changes color. But she could still see-- so why was it happening to her? Maybe it was a delayed effect or something. It had to be; since she wasnt blind. Yet. Raita shuffled to her bed; sitting down cross-legged with her head in her hands; her fire-red hair covering her face. Kami, please-- just kill me now.
