Even when I was married to a beautiful woman, with three wonderful kids, the urge to fall back in the arms of my ex was too strong to resist. We had an affair before she left for the UK to further her studies. I was heartbroken, but she promised we would keep in touch. However, three months later, she stopped communicating. During that time, I met Sharon. We fell in love and a few months later, she conceived. I immediately married her because I did not want my children to be born out of wedlock. Our relationship grew from strength to strength until my ex came back into the picture. When she returned to Uganda, I found myself torn between Sharon and her. I started lying to Sharon and staying out late to spend more time with my ex. I even started being discreet. Previously, I was comfortable with Sharon washing my underwear, but I started washing it myself. I feared she would find out I was cheating on her. But like the old adage goes; every thief has 40 days. Sharon soon found out. One weekend, I left home at 7:00pm. I told her I was going to watch a football match at the kafunda in the neigbhourhood. Instead, I went to my ex’s house. I did not know Sharon had trailed me to my ex’s house. While we were having a good time, we heard a knock on the door. When my ex opened the door, Sharon was standing right there. She forced her way into the house and a scuffle ensued. I fled the scene, leaving the women trading insults. I spent the night at a friend’s place and returned home the following day, only to find an empty house. Sharon had carried away all the household items. I am too embarrassed to go to her parents’ home. I have tried calling her, but she has refused to pick my calls. I am confused
