Even with the prior experiences of both Batman: PATROL and my time - TopicsExpress

Even with the prior experiences of both Batman: PATROL and my time spent at the Art Institute, its very clear to me that Dial D actually stands as my first full-blown attempt at filmmaking. Im really excited to finally present a piece that shows clear examples of thought process, ranging from shot compositions to editing rhythms and narrative choices. What also excites me about it is the actual filmmaking process and the tactile grunge of shooting off the hip, contorting your body in whichever shape you need to push or pull the frame to where it needs to be to create a shot thats simultaneously dynamic and essential. Theres actually a really cool bit of irony from the set that I realized in retrospect. I was trying to get an overhead and over the shoulder shot but since I was too short, I decided to stand up on a stool while having someone hold my legs to keep me steady. Theres a photo of this same on-set behavior being demonstrated by none other than Stanley Kubrick himself while filming Killers Kiss...except he was standing on a bed post haha. I guess I spoke too soon about filmmaking because when the work is going well, its an incredible experience.
