Evening all, Thought Id kick start my love of all things vintage with my most favourite British designer, Jenny Packham. I first stumbled across her work when searching for my own wedding dress & I instantly fell in love with her gowns. Jenny launched her first collection back in 1988 & ever since has been a major designer. Her work features highly on the red carpet with ready to wear pieces worn by iconic women from Catherine Zeta Jones to Brit music school student Adele. Her latest 2015 collection was inspired by 1930s British society photographer Madame Yevonde, in particular ladies dressed in classical costumes known as The Goddesses. Yevondes stylised images of mythological heroins- Helen of Troy, Persephone & Venus all inspired Packhams latest gowns. Jenny teams this mythical style with delicate French lace, her signature beading in a mix of golds, vintage silvers & crisp whites. As ornate as some of Jenny Packhams dresses are they still manage to lay beautifully over the female form & almost float around your feet. True designer talent!
