[Event info : Autumn rice harvest & cooking workshop on Sep.28 in Hakuba, Nagano] If you like countryside, lets meet up here in Hakuba!!! Hakuba is the most beautiful village with contrast of mountains and rice paddies. Get away from busy city life and relax for your weekend. Rice harvest experience and cooking workshop is included in this event but other things are very flexible. Please contact Kayo the organizer and she will give you a hint what you can do in Hakuba. Looking forward to seeing you soon! [Hakuba] As the temperature drops and the trees start to prepare for the winter snow, Hakuba moves into one of it’s most breathtaking seasons. With the first snows of the year dusting the mountain peaks and the valley below still lush and green a vivid band of orange, red and yellow slowly begins to creep down from the snowline into the valley bringing with it color to rival the best of the summer flowers. Temperatures are cool and pleasant making hiking and mountain biking comfortable throughout the day and it is still warm enough to sit out in the evenings to enjoy the fresh mountain air. The rice is harvested during the Autumn and many harvest festivals welcome both locals and visitors alike. Along with the rice, pick mountain vegetables and mushrooms and enjoy the marked change in seasonal foods in the restaurants as chefs make the most of the ingredients on their doorstep.
