Ever wanted to join the police force but have other commitments? Well…Warwickshire Police have the perfect solution for you…be a special constable. Anyone interested in applying is invited to attend an informal briefing which will explain what it is like to be a special constable, what the application stage involves, the training provided, fitness levels needed and the vetting and medical checks required. As well as providing potential recruits with information, there will also be the opportunity to meet existing specials and experts from HR and Training who will be available to answer any queries and help people decide if it is right for them. Chief Officer for Warwickshire Special Constabulary, Glyn Gardner said: I would like to invite anyone over 18 who is interested in policing to come along and find out what we do. This is a real opportunity for members of the public who want to volunteer a small amount of their time to make a big difference in their community. Two sessions will take place across Warwickshire during November 2014: Wednesday 26th November Stratford College 19:45 – 21:15 Saturday 29th November North Warwickshire & Hinckley College 10:30 – 12:00 These events are open to anyone over 18, living in and around Warwickshire.
