Ever wonder how Bill Gates got so rich ? He was a programmer for IBM, saw the new Apple ,system, left IBM and copied the apple format, creating Windows (which to date has never been bug free unlike apple). Thus, he created a new operating system that made DOS (IBM)s, system out of date, next as the marketing genius he went to software companies that wrote programs from games to you name it, saying if they wrote the software to be a windows program, they would get the free operating system to support it. IBM bought his idea in shares, he now controlled the worlds official operating system, not the best, as Apple & OS was far better than his. However he out marketed those as software was being written exclusively for windows and people could access more programs with windows than other operating systems, thus became very popular over the others. Eventually Gates, Apple & IBM signed a peace treaty, 1/3 of the worlds OS for each and would support each other in this. What you may not know is this: IBM was using magnetic rings separated in grids to store info. An Asian student, in the US came up with the magnetic platter idea submitted it to IBM who stated they would get back to him. They immediately had R&D reproduce the idea while the legal department was told how to in essence steal the idea. Well an out of court settlement was either 10 or 100 thousand payed out. While IBM made Billions off the idea. Capitalism at its finest or scamming genuine inventors ?
