Ever wondered . . . what services are included in the Book of Common Prayer? The principle act of Christian worship on Sunday is the Holy Eucharist (A Greek word meaning “thanksgiving”). We honor Jesus’ desire, expressed just before he died for us, that we should always “do this in remembrance of me.” We who are many are one body because we share one bread and one cup. In communion with Christ, we receive forgiveness for our sins and deepen our union with God and one another as we proclaim, “Christ has died, Christ is risen, Christ will come again.” This is the service you are most likely to share with us when you visit an Episcopal Church on Sunday. The Book of Common Prayer also includes services for Morning and Evening Prayer as well as sacramental services such as Holy Baptism.
