Every day, your brain needs 7 experiences to function at its best according to David Rock, director of the NeuroLeadership Institute. 1. Focus deeply on a creative project or a complex problem. 2. Give your brain down time by doing something that doesnt require active thought, like washing dishes or even zoning out on the couch. 3. Stay social by connecting with friends and family. 4. Reflect mindfully, either by journaling, meditating or talking with a loved one. 5. Have fun! Fun and novel experiences like laughing with friends or playing with a child creates new connections in your brain. 6. Get physical exercise; it oxygenates and flushes toxins from the brain, and activates brain regions that are usually inactive. 7. Get enough sleep so that your brain can reorganize, strengthen connections, and consolidate memories. Do you give your brain each of these experiences every day?
