Every decision we make, every action we take, changes our experience of the reality of the moment we are in. It doesnt change the reality of the moment, only the way we perceive it. This is the nature of creation. We have a choice to make. Our choice is to surrender to what is, or try to manipulate it in an effort to make it fit our preconceived ideas about it. While the now is eternal, it contains all possibilities and, therefore, the choice we make changes our individual perceptions of reality as it exists for us in the world of created form. Each of us creates the world we live in. This is not a philosophical point of view, but a concrete reality. It is up to us whether we live in the real world of manifested forms or an illusory world we create in our egoic minds. The creative force of the universe does not care what we desire or alter its reality to suit our expectations. It simply produces the experience it produces and then we perceive it as we choose, with or without resistance. In the reality that exists outside of time and created form, preference has no meaning. There is only the eternal now, neither good nor bad, unfolding as it does, moment to moment. Judgement enters only when reality is interpreted by the subjective mind in time, colored by its beliefs and its past memories. But the reality of who we are is not our minds or our judgmental egos. We are, in reality, a part of that creative force of the universe which we call Tao, but has many names. What it is called does not matter because what we call it is only a name which points to a nameless reality. That which can be named is not the eternal Tao, in the words of Lao Tzu. What does matter is that with effort, and persistence, we can learn to center our consciousness in the now and maintain an awareness of our connection to all created things in this moment, while at the same time remaining free of mental attachments to the manifested forms that unfold in our life experience and to our judgements about them. We can learn to stop judging and resisting what is, because we come to understand that to do so is futile and insane. We observe and see that all things that come into existence in the world of form pass away as well. We learn that change is the nature of the universe and that permanence, in the world of forms, is an illusion. We become aware that all things are connected to us by their very existence in that same present reality and that their differences from us are no more than alternate expressions of the various, infinite possibilities contained in the eternal. We learn to surrender to impermanence and become one with the reality of creation. We are all one creation expressing itself in a multitude of ways to create the reality that is the eternal now. Each has their part and their purpose whether or not we are able to see it with our limited perception, and each is only temporary in this manifested world. So we focus on the moment before us that is eternal reality. And we are fulfilling our own purpose when we learn to accept each moment as it is, without judgement, resistance, or attachment, in surrender to the natural flow of the universe.......SC
