Every dollar salary lost because of furlough or business/investment dollar lost because of stock market uncertainty due to threatened government shutdown is a tax being imposed on everyone in this country by a radical element in the Republican-controlled House and allowed by the cowards in their party who refuse to govern as charged by their elected office. They have declared government the enemy of the people , the current elected American government that is. At one time, these same folks would found this grounds for treason charges - now creating such sentiments is their only hope because they utterly reject the democratic choices the American electorate made in 2012. It is disgraceful.
