Every night I read through the common EMS FB groups and their discussions. Shaking my head I realize that we are a LOONNNNGGGG way from being considered a profession. So, I guess MY question of the night is that are pages like Nocturnal Medic, Paramedics of Facebook or any of the other group pages a benefit or hindrance to our industry? Now, before you say, "It gives us a forum to vent and be ourselves!" I want you to think that if these discussions go beyond that. Do they spill out into our personalities on the streets? Do they teach the new providers that THIS is the way to act? Do they create a virus that spreads among us? To the pages that I mention, do not take this as a personal attack as I have been involved in several good discussions but through doing so have been quite concerned. I understand that you are just the medium in this realm.
