POD OF THE WEEK Today I would like you all to meet another of our invisible Pod gang members. Invisible because nobody has shown any interest in her - we just cannot understand it at all.....:( This is Quela and this is her story. We found Quela at the kill shelter and even there she had been invisible. She was on the top of the kill list that day and if we hadnt reserved her there and then, it would have been the end of another beautiful dog, another life lost, another opportunity missed and another story which would never have a happy ending. As it is, Quela now has a chance to live happily ever after - if only someone else would see what we saw all those months ago, a beautiful dog, graceful and feminine with a lovely, people orientated personality. She is still a young dog at only approx. 3 years of age and not a boisterous teenager anymore but just a the right age to settle easily into a new home without much trauma or upheaval. Quela is what we call a Podalga, a Podenco x Galgo and, lets face it friends, here you have everybodys favourite breeds in one adorable, fur wrapped package. She combines the attributes of both her parents in the most attractive way possible, she is long legged, slender and graceful but not too tall at 52 cm to the shoulder. As you can see in the photos, she has the typical Podenco colouring and she can make sticky-uppy ears like a Pod but, more often than not, carries them Galgo style. She has the Galgos long, mobile tail and a ground covering, effortles stride. ....and she is also NEGATIVE for all mediterranean diseases! Quela is very, very loving and affectionate with people and very responsive to them. She gets on very, very well with other dogs but can be a little food dominant. Not in a nasty way but she just feels that she has to remind other dogs that the food she is about to eat is hers - and hers alone! Please dont let her remain invisible forever more, help us to find a forever sofa for her. She is a lovely dog who so much deserves a bit of forever happiness. She would be so happy to see a Christmas tree this year with a parcel for her underneath - just think how wonderful that must feel...... I dont think I need to tell you that her little suitcase had been packed for ages. Its standing by the door but has started gathering dust - this must not be allowed to continue!!! If you are interested in this beautiful girl, please drop me a line or contact sospodencorecue@gmail
