Every now and then in my unique and varied work life, I come across special people and special things. Saturday was one of those days for me. I was photographing a garden wedding at the grooms home and was invited to take photos in the museum. Having no idea what I was about to experience, I entered the windowless room beneath the stairs with a sign on the door Te Mama. Lo and behold, a colourful, pink tinged treasure vault opened before me. Every item was lovingly placed on display and immaculately clean and ordered. There was a wall of McDonalds toys, a Barbie alcove complete with chandelier, a coke themed stand, and a miriad of novelty salt and pepper shakers all lined up two by two waiting for this ark to set sail.
