Every once in awhile, I show up at church in my leathers because Im heading out for a ride. This drives my mother absolutely crazy. She once told me Is that how you would dress if you were going to meet the Lord today? Thats when I told her, Mama, when He looks at us, do you really think he even notices what we are wearing on the outside? In fact, this is how I found my church home. Dressed like that, every other church actually tried to seat me in the back or in a corner, out of sight. And people looked at me with judgement and sometimes disgust. Thrive Church...I was kind of expecting the same treatment, but Pastor and his wife treated me like an honored guest, and everyone else hugged my neck too! Thats when I knew I had finally found my home. Besides, isnt there a lot of vanity going on when were more worried about fashion than we are about love? My prayer today is to see everyone through eyes of love as He does, and not through my own tainted and distorted vision.
