Every time I hear a liberal say the Constitution gives them the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness (and some even throw in safety), I instantly know that I am dealing with a missing link between intelligent humans and animals. I say animals because when I ask them what part of the Constitution they find those rights in, the entire conversation degrades into a massive profane festival of general third grade behavior. In my mind, I always envision them as a bunch of monkeys shrieking and fighting over one banana. In all seriousness....is education painful to these people? They never fail to employ this erroneous argument to explain their fervent support of any number of taxpayer funded government programs. But the bottom line still remains true - no one has the right to force other people to buy them things. It really is that simple. Ive said it before and Ill say it again - there are distinct differences between rights, responsibilities, and privileges. PS - That line is in the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution. Why not read it in honor of the Fourth of July? ~TLR
