Every time I see anything about the stresses and strains experienced by FIFO workers and their families, I cant help but think that these problems are experienced by military families too but with more danger and smaller pay-packets. For FIFO applicants, are there any screening processes in place to assess their suitability/potential ability to cope with the separation, lack of communication and isolation? And, if there are or were, would applicants attempt to fudge or fake results to give themselves the best chance of getting into FIFO anyway? Being physically qualified to do a job doesnt mean someone is psychologically suited. Well, that should upset a lot of people...
