Every war in the history of our civilisation (with perhaps a handful of exceptions - well prior to the industrial revolution) ... and regardless of what you were told otherwise ... was fought for resources &/or strategic access to resources (including supply & transport lines). YOU are one of those categories of resources ... whether a well treated slave or a poorly treated slave ... the people with the power & resources to dictate the terms of warfare just see you as a resource to be exploited like any other.
