Every weekday morning my husband leaves the house before 6 a.m. to support our family. One morning a week he drives the kids to school. Every night he trudges in, tired, just before 6:30, and we have dinner as a family. This Monday I drove three and one half hours to two cities in order to complete my 24 hearings. On one stretch of I-94, I passed four semi-truck accidents; it was a crazy day to be out. I’ll be in six different courts this week to complete my hearings. I drive a 17-year old car; my husband drives a 14-year old truck. ObamaCare has just forced our family’s monthly premium to a massive $2300 a month. We have three kids in college this year. We have at least six years to go with multiple kids in college. Sometimes we lay up at night and worry about things. The government plunders almost 60% of what we earn. Sixty. Per. Cent. A single mom in Michigan with two illegitimate children can receive $47,500 in benefits annually, tax free. If Norm and I could each do that, our income would be larger than it is now. And that is why socialism always fails. It is a huge parasite on the back of achievement. It slowly kills the very thing it needs to survive.
