Every year I am reminded of where I was on this day in 2001. My two youngest children were just babies. I was away on business in Jacksonville, FL. When the towers were attacked by an unknown adversary- true to mandates in place since Dec. 7, 1941- every naval vessel in the harbor headed to the open ocean loaded to the teeth. It was the last time I ever saw Don Shearer- who would die some 12 days later of cancer that hed hidden from everyone for years. I miss him greatly... and my calm way of life before that day. Today we face a mostly nameless, faceless, spineless adversary that uses an acronym to define its coalition of cowards. It makes me mad that I am not able to do much more to help the situation than to be personally prepared. Blaming politicians past and present is a waste of time. WE elected them after all. Education and vigilance is the key! Please, please if you enjoy your way of life, or want a better one for that matter, dont just sit there and think the government is going to fix everything for us! Work, go to school, VOTE, and stash the food and ammunition. Remember the fallen always...and pick up the sword if it comes to that!
