Every year in Wayne County there are about 500 families who lose an infant who is one year old or younger. About 250 of those families dont have the money to pay for their childs funeral. They were saving for a crib, not a casket. Today the Michigan Chapter of TEARS will hold our biggest event of the year called the Rock and Walk. I have a team (Team Bella) and will be walking in memory of my daughter who passed away at 5 months old in 2006. All money raised will pay for infant funerals for families that cannot afford the casket or grave marker. It generally takes $1,000 to cover a funeral. All donations help in a big way! We have many who contribute $20, and it adds up! And we have some individuals, families, churches, and businesses who pool their resources to contribute $1000 to completely cover one familys expense!
