Everybody pointing fingers about the storm and how two inches of beautiful powder shut down our city remember this: As citizens, until we take the time to find the proper people to run this state and this city, until we make sure our government is organized and has proper emergency procedures, this is not going to stop. My three children are away at college but all I can say is the fact that our children were not the top priority for the state, city and local government blows me away though I have to say this is no different in Washington ... Everything, I mean all resources Tuesday night, should have gone into making sure every single one of those kids stuck at school or on buses were safe, warm and fed ... we were just lucky nothing terrible happened and the fact that a number of these kids were left on buses overnight with one person looking after them, were not fed and had to go to the bathroom in peoples yards is every upsetting ... why didnt officials get to every one of those buses and make sure those kids were taken care of ... every one of them should have been top priority ... I would like to thank all those including police and the fire department, the National Guard, teachers, school administrators for all they did but we have to be lead by capable people that understand what it most important, how to handle situations like these and lead their people in the right direction ... Our children are our future and the future of this country ... until our leadership, and we as a country, realize this, things will not change ... Did we learn from this and will we make changes or next week will it become just another winter memory ...
