Everybody shocked this morning in Europe about the Teen sisters gang-raped and hanged to death in the indian state of Uttar Pradesh; Cops suspected but actually media are playing too much on the horror sentiment against India as a whole and not enough on the deep cause clearly linked to: 1/ Dominant cast in rural UP (yadav in this case) versus dalit as I write in the book LInde pour les nuls, with police captured by the dominant casts at the local level; 2/ Dominant machism against the women in this culture of violence to retain power; useful here to read in details the article attached. But in the present circumstances where not a single word has been expressed by the Top authorities (the new Prime Minister has not tweeted any support for the family) since the last 3 days, I suspect: 1/ Political game at the state level in the context of BJP strategy to weaken the chief minister Mulayam Yadav; Its wellknown that after eliminating the pro-dalit party BSP, BJP want to remove the SP party and take the power in UP; 2/ Hindutva-like-policy of terror against the dalits (and the muslim like in Muzzafanagar) with the protection of upper or dominant castes. It is a shame that the teen sisters are the victim of such a political tricky game, and India as a whole victime of such a bad image; but it is also interesting to follow-up the story as a good testimony of where the new regime want to bring India in the coming years. indiatimes/news/more-from-india/indias-shame-gangrape-of-dalit-sisters-sparks-global-outrage-151778.html
