Everyman alive today, has a genetic copy of the Y Chromosome, that was carried by 1 man, who lived in Africa 60,000 years ago. He was not the only man alive back then, but his Y Chromosome is the only one to have survived through the ages. His specific Y Chromosome has passed down the genetic line from every father to every son for tens of thousands of generations. You can call him scientific Adam. Women carry a special cell structure called Mitochondria. Both men and women carry carry Mitochondria, but only Mothers can pass it along. Every single woman alive today can be genetically traced back to a woman who lived in Africa over 150-200,000 years ago. You can call her scientific Eve. She is the oldest root in our family tree. We are 99.9% identical on the genetic level. Our differences are literally skin deep. Race is a social construct. Out of one, many. Africa is where the journey began for everyone alive today. We are all African. #dontgetittwisted
