Everyone: Medicare enrollment is NOW open and the Free Press has a special section today detailing the changes coming! If you have a family member that is on Medicare, please pick up a copy of the paper for them! Its absolutely ESSENTIAL that Seniors double-check their insurance coverages every fall through Medicare to make sure they are in the RIGHT plan for them! Peoples needs change from year to year............ Youll notice in this section that Bettie Hughes of the Area Agency on Aging is featured teaching a class.....this is the SAME Bettie who comes to our Seniors ROCK! event every Sept. at Southpoint! She is an EXPERT on Medicare and a good friend of mine so she always makes sure our church is taken care of every Sept.! This is just one reason why we make sure to hold Seniors ROCK! every year so that the downriver Seniors can be sure they are receiving all that they are entitled to :). You need to take care of these things (OR help your family members) in ADVANCE and not wait until the last minute as you must fit this in during the yearly enrollments. Please make sure to pick up or get a copy from a friend and check it out!
