Everyone got a health check today. Trudy is thin and anemic but otherwise not too bad for a dog that just gave birth in the middle of the woods and has been scrounging for food for two and a half weeks!! Puppies are all robust and healthy. One has a birth defect where this skin didnt close over his gentiles like it was supposed to and if he makes it he will need surgery to correct it down the road. He has been separated and will be bottlefed separately to give him the best chances we can. Trudy will be on a very strict feeding schedule to help her gain weight without overwhelming her system. I have been asked by several people what they can donate to help this mother and pups. We are feeding her NutraNuggets puppy food which can be purchased at FredMeyers along with Canine Red Cell as a supplement if anyone wants to donate food or the CRC. After we are more sure that the little boy is going to make it we will be doing some fundraisers for his surgery as well. THANK YOU to all of our supporters and those that helped look for Trudy and her brood over the past several weeks. :)
