I am related to so many veterans, all of whom I am grateful for their service and am proud of their sacrifice. My Father Lt. Col Charles Atwell served 26 years, was part of the first occupational forces to occupy Japan after the surrender. His two brothers Harry & Homer Atwell (twins) who were both involved in the Landing at Normandy not completely sure of their positions or what beach they landed on, but I do know Homer was actively involved in fighting the Germans. My bother in law Col Jack Novak served in the Air Force flying missions over Viet Nam as a navigator. Col Tom Vann (another brother in law) was an Army Chaplin and served our country taking care of our troops. My father in law Col Tom McBride served two tours of duty in Korea, and two in Viet Nam, he was one of (I think) 12 survivors of Pork Chop Hill in Korea and was right in the middle of the action during the 68 Tet offensive. I spent just three years as a medic in the Army all of which was spent in Alaska after my training of course. I have so many nephews who have served, Don & John Novak, Aaron, Elliot, Austin Vann, Chris and David Stephens and the next generation Donnie Novak. Thank you to each and every one of you for all you have done to preserve our way of life.
