Everyone is talking about the possibility of snow for Tuesday evening. A weather system will track across eastern North Carolina on Tuesday and really strengthen once it moves northeast off our coast Tuesday evening. Scattered light rain showers will develop Tuesday afternoon and gradually change to light snow from north to south late Tuesday afternoon and evening. Light snow accumulations of around 1/4 to 3/4 of an inch will be possible, especially along and north of US264 from Wilson to Greenville to Washington to Swan Quarter. South of US264 only light snow is expected with little or no accumulation. Temperatures will drop into the 40s during Tuesday afternoon and then below freezing during Tuesday evening so if we do get light snow some slick spots on roadways will be possible Tuesday evening through the overnight into Wednesday morning. In addition to the chance for some snow, cold arctic air will surge into our region Tuesday overnight with actual low temperatures in the upper teens and lower 20s inland by Wednesday morning so wind chill values will drop into the single digits by Wednesday morning....skip
