Everyone keep Elliot Heralds family in your prayers. He passed away this morning and is now at rest with his Heavenly Father. Elliot was one of the best friends my dad ever had. Those two spent many many wonderful days and hours together from working together as builders to daddy calling him to come up for breakfast when mommy fixed those big country breakfasts. I remember so well the night his daughter passed away and Elliot told my dad not to leave him that night. Needless to say, my dad stayed right with him. Along in the night Elliot came to where he was sitting, laid his head in my dads lap and finally went to sleep for a few hours. Daddy never moved until he woke up. I remember as a little girl, needing a quarter for some candy at a little country store. Daddy had a cow that Elliot wanted to buy so I sold him daddys cow for a quarter! Years after that he would ask me how his cow was doing. Breathitt County has lost a great citizen and a great friend to so many of us. Rest in peace Elliot...I loved you so much and will miss you greatly in this life but I am happy knowing you and daddy are once again reunited to never be separated again. To Alice and his family please know that I love you all and will keep you in my prayers.
