Everyone knows how we have the best customers who surprise (and spoil) us with a variety of culinary treats. We usually post snapshots of these goodies and credit the chef for their wonderful creation so that everyone else can appreciate their talent as much as we appreciate the thoughtfulness of their gift. I have to apologize that we overlooked one such treat recently given to us by Michelle Settle Sisson. Well not so much we as it was all my fault. When she dropped off Ms. Molly to stay with us a few days ago, Michelle gave Dale a wonderful loaf of banana bread that she had made which he then left sitting on our front counter (probably overlooking it because weve been so busy). It didnt take long for me to notice the loaf sitting there because 1) I LOVE anything with bananas and 2) I was starvin like Marvin. For the next two or three hours, I interrogated every employee thoroughly (but discreetly) in an attempt to find out - where did that loaf came from?, who made it?, whos was it? - and most importantly - was someone going to eat it? After getting no information from our staff, I finally just asked Dale about it and he just casually stated Oh, yeah, Michelle Sisson dropped it off earlier. Its home made banana bread. Now I know that my ears heard exactly what Dale said, at that same moment a sort of frenzy took over me and all I could process was the sound of a thousand whispers saying EAT IT. EAT IT. EAT IT. The moment Dale turned his back, I scooped up my precious and ran off to the kitchen. Im not sure what happened over the next few minutes - I can remember the sound of saran wrap being stretched and torn - and when I regained my composure I was left with a handful of shredded plastic, a counter full of crumbs and a bit of a guilty conscious. I wont include all the rest of the days details, but it pretty much ended with Dales discovery of my actions and an uncomfortable night of silence, but more importantly explains why theres no pic or post for the wonderful banana bread that I am extremely thankful of Michelle Sisson for making for us - Richard.
