Everyone, please meet Millmac (the emaciated, cream-colored puppy on the left) and Huggy Bear (the guy with the big smile), who were abandoned by their owners separately in my area and, by some miracle, found each other and survived in the forests and fields of my region for part of the summer. Millmac had been out there for a lot longer when I found them both during a drive, a ghostly skeleton of a pup walking along a country road. Both were friendly and sweet and thus, yes, no question, they came home with me for food and a soft bed in a safe yard. Millmac actually led me to Huggy Bear, which makes her a hero forever. And she will be forever a puppy: due to the extended period without food and clean water, Millmacs health began to decline over the past week. She succumbed to the stress that had been placed upon her system over the past few months and she passed away yesterday afternoon in my car, while I was driving her to the pet hospital. A sweet little lady that I will always remember. RIP.
