Everyone today in jiu jitsu has a story to tell, a lesson to give a new move to show. As far as I am concerned, jiu jitsu is a very flexible martial form of expression, capable of adopting so many different shapes and styles. However, in my modest opinion every jiu jitsu fighter must be skilled in the fundamentals throws of judo and wrestling, must know how to work from the bottom, must know how to apply pressure and pass from the top, must have a good arsenal of submissions, and must know how to handle himself when strikes are permitted. With the passing of time I still like the new fancy stuff, but I have started to appreciate more the beauty of basic moves done with incredible skill and elegance, with an aggressive and smooth style.
