Everyone who acknowledges me before others, the Son of man will acknowledge before the angels (Lk 128) In todays Gospel, Jesus make a simple yet powerful promise. He asks us to acknowledge him before family, friends and neighbours; if we do so, he will recognise us in heaven. How do I acknowledge Jesus in my life? Does the life I lead give others a message of hope? When others falsely accuse me, how do I react? When I pray, and my prayers seem unanswered, does my reaction encourage others to remain faithful? When I do not get that promises promotion, do I mourn and groan? When children go their own way, do I pray and continue to trust in Lord? When my spouse abuses me and the children, do I forgive? It is how I bear my cross in life that makes the difference. Recall the two criminals that were on the right and left of Jesus at Calvary. One was critical of jesus, but the other admitted he was wrong. What would I have done? Jesus offers me his Spirit: the Holy Spirit will teach you at the very hour what you ought to say. Jesus asks me to constantly seek his wisdom and guidance. If I do so, I am assured that I can confidently deal with lifes trials and tribulations: FRUIT: Let me ask Jesus for the courage to change myself and to proclaim and acknowledge him be my renewed life.
