Everyones a photographer except my mother! Either a serious one taking excellent pictures or an aim-and-shoot one taking amateurish, no-prop-aided but overly candid shots. Ahem! A recent read about the word of the year according to the Oxford English Dictionary is selfie, nudging the word twerk ( of the Miley Cyrus backside boogie) to the sidelines. A selfie is a self portrait, thats all. I didnt want to be left out of all those now happening activities and took a selfie. I must be one of the ugliest people this side of the world. Warts, moles, freckles, wrinkles and lines not unlike railway tracks on my forehead are all visible on my face. Ok, I could do some tricks with Photo Shop and present a younger me, but thats not the point. Anyway I meant to say that everyone, that is except my Mum, is taking photos all around him or her, skywards and even at his or her feet. Why isnt there a social media buzzword for the latter? Photos without the feet dont count. The ground you are walking on make interesting photo shots. A walkie perhaps to describe a portrait of your feet on your walk? I wasnt walking on pebbles but on a carpet on the corridor of a hotel. The photo of the bamboo slats is the floor of the veranda of the longhouse at Kpg. Mujat.
