Everything you invest in needs to have some kind of return. Not all investments are financial. The PEOPLE you invest your time and good energy into should yield positive reciprocity. Everyone that I make a point to stay in touch with offer enlightenment, honesty, respect, and fill me with such amazing energy that I want to give it all back double to them. That way, theres balance and neither of us is left in the negative. This is also how I approach my working relationships and job choices. I believe in every project I take on and give twice that onstage/set because it gives me so much-a good check and a good story to tell. Unhealthy relationships/friendships/jobs/environments just arent an option. If youre leaving conversations with certain people drained or tense, if you find yourself in a friendship where love and support is unrequited, if each conversation is a battle of dominance (and there are more signs), consider making a few adjustments...its changed my life!
