Evie saw Father Christmas at Walmsley tonight after the light - TopicsExpress

Evie saw Father Christmas at Walmsley tonight after the light switch on at the War Memorial in Dunscar/Egerton. When it was her turn, she went up to him, spoke to him, and when he asked what she would like, she said a Peppa Scooter, and a Hat, Scarf and Gloves set shes seen and asked for. He said hed see what he could do, and handed her a present. Pleased as punch she skipped down the steps... when we got in the car, she asked if she could open it, and I told her when we got home. She then said whilst driving she couldnt wait to open it... to see her Peppa Scooter :/ uh oh... I explained that she would have to wait until Christmas Day for that, as its too big to bring with him today! She seemed happy enough... When we got inside, she asked again if she could open it. Videod it to watch back, and glad I did, the look on her face is priceless!!! Never seen her so disheartened to see chocolate in my life. She thought it would be Hat scarf and gloves, despite the earlier convo in the car! I was then thinking though, how many people buy things like hat scarf and glove sets, and they get thrown aside by kids at christmas in favour of receiving chocolate and sweets etc, Popsys got it the wrong way around. HA I think its so wonderful that Walmsley did this for our children though, no cost involved, and they all got a wrapped mini selection box, and the chance to see father Christmas, there was mulled wine for grown ups, and cordial juices for the littler people, with mince pies and biscuits, all free of charge! Evies normally really grateful, most of you will know that, and once shes gotten over the shock of it being chocolate, shell be over the moon! Thank you Walmsley and Friends of Bromley Cross, and all others involved in the organising!!!
