Evolution, my ass. If you need proof, watch some squirrels. Scrat is an anti-hero. Squirrels are just dumb, but they survive, no matter what. They handle HR speeds that humans cannot...they handle MUCH that humans cannot...they handle "couples for life" in ways that humans cannot. But they hide their food in the most ludicrous of places. Yes, they propogate the trees, but how.... They hide nuts/acorns in places they MUST know they will not find again. They make trees in places where they KNOW that trees cannot live. This house has been here almost 30 years. That is roughly 30 generations of squirrels. They KNOW that those trees will be mowed. They KNOW that those nuts/acorns they planted will not be there for them to eat later...strictly because of where they put them. I sat and watched a squirrel yesterday. He picked up a nut, digging for it, and ran toward the mailbox planter, as it is easy to dig in. When I ran him off, as all the nuts/acorns they have put there have become young trees, rather than being eaten, he went back to that SAME spot in the yard where he found that acorn, and put it back...covering it with leaves he KNOWS will not be there next week...in a place where he KNOWS that acorn will turn to a tree before he ever gets the CHANCE to eat it. And where he knows that that tree will get mown down...except that Eric and I have been saving such trees to plant elsewhere for two years. And they know us now. After 2 years, they will do all but sit on our shoulders. They will look us in the eye, though we are 20+ times their size, and do what they think is right. Our neighbor, who has lived here all of his life, gets deliberately pelted by these same squirrels. We NEVER HAVE. Do the MATH. Evolution would have taught them better. Creation is why they exist. : ) [As they do.] Squirrels may be stupid...but men who eat them or otherwise hunt them are FAR more stupid. If you dare, extrapolate this into politics, human life, religion, war, more. I DARE YOU!!!
