Exactly eleven days ago, I attended a Re-Union of former PASO/PASMA leaders held at the Vaal. The meeting that was attend by various generations of PASO/PASMA leaders was a great success, it was interesting to interact with members of the last PASO NEC before demarcation, members of the first and second PASMA NECs and of course representatives of younger generations. Many key resolutions were taken and shall unpack on them later... We shared experiences and wisdom. This coming weekend I will participating in Pan Africanist Research and Study Circle. The Pan Africanist Research and Study Circle focus group is planned to take place as follows:- Theme:- “Africa’s Failed or Failing States, Seeking An Alternative Economic Developmental and Emancipatory State” Five presentations received will have the following topics:- • Africa’s possible Scenarios • Post-Colonial Africa: The Neo-Scramble of Africa • Perspectives on Welfare Rationalism in African Contexts: Freedom and Social Cohesion • A Roadmap for Pan-Africanists • Kwame Nkrumah & Julius Nyerere: Independence, Leadership, & Legacy • Africa Without Borders an Campaigns The Pan Africanist Research and Study Circle focus group session details are as follows: • Venue : Wits University, Business School, Auditorium Class A • Date : Saturday, 5th April 2014 • Time : 10H00 - 15h00 • Contributions : R50,00 meals Expected panellist includes among others Prof Kofi Kouakou (Ivory Coast), Dr John Trimble(USA), Dr Rex Mckenzie (Jamaica), Dr Diran Soumonni (Senegal), Yaa Ashantewaa K.
