Exactly one month ago at this time I was being admitted to hospital. Doubled over in severe pain and couldnt hold my head up. Diagnosis was abdominal abscess that later perforated and poisoned my body causing sepsis. Had my first PICC line placed and started on some very potent iv antibiotics which I am sti continuing at home. But I am home. Getting little better and stronger each day. The road is long but I have come a long way!!! Even feel little of my sense of humor sneaking back. And oh how I have missed laughing. Had my precious friend Tonette visit me last night and tell me I was looking so much better. Guess getting some color back in me and not the gray color I was is in fact better. Really was and is hard for me to wrap my head around just how sick I got. No one wants to come that close to dying. But there is always a silver lining and one thing is for sure it makes you appreciate life and all that comes with it so much more. Never ever take a moment for granted. Love those around you with all you have and tell them what they mean. The love of my family and friends has been amazing The prayers and encouragement have pushed me when I honestly wanted to throw my hands up. God kept me here for a reason and I cant wait to see what that is. Come on surgery first of Feb. Colostomy or not I am ready. And especially ready to heal up and get back to work nursing others. That I know is my purpose in life. Along with making others laugh ...Love like there is no tomorrow!!!!!
