Exactly two weeks ago Sasha-dawg had a scary seizure and she repeated it again tonight, almost the same hour and in the same spot, the middle of the bedroom floor, where she does not usually sleep. First she let out s terrible, human sounding howling, high-pitched, cry, I tore back there again and found her lying in her side, her limbs stiff again and she was limp and out of things for about 30 seconds. I rubbed her side, neck, and legs, calling her name and she woke out of it. She was fully recovered a minute later and I called the vet. Shes next to my chair and dozing now. They werent too helpful, telling me to keep a journal of symptoms and to watch her of course. I went on the Net to look things up and found identical symptoms, but no one seems to know what it IS. Perhaps she was dreaming and that brought it on, but Im not happy not knowing what the hell is happening to by girl. That it was exactly two weeks ago in the same spot in the house is just damned weird. Shes quiet now, even ate a little. Shes not been outside all evening because of the rain, so shes not been licking toads. I dont need to know if youve lost a dog to this--Im still fragile from losing Fuzzy--but has anyone had a dog with similar symptoms: long unusual howl as though in pain, stiff limbs, then wakes up, urination is sometimes a symptom when theyre out of it. The first post on this link below is almost identical to Sashas symptoms. I dont think the room temp had anything to do with it. I keep it cool in there, but not cold. So far as I know both seizures happened when she was napping. Her gums are pail, so Ive given her a little high fructose syrup as one person posted. I followed with a teaspoon of peanut butter. She liked those. Theres no listlessness or confusion. Theres been no changes in her diet, shes on Blue Buffalo Senior and gets glucosamine and chrondroiten. Of course ANY positive vibes for my girl will be most welcome. This shook me. forums.webmd/3/pet-health-exchange/forum/3365/32
