Excerpt: "If the proposal in the Bill was to succeed, the salaries of MPs will be set by the Parliamentary Service Commission, itself composed mainly of MPs, thereby raising serious conflict of interest and eroding the doctrine of separation of powers that the Bill purports it intends to uphold. Since the MPs recognise that the proposal in the Bill is unconstitutional and there is a likelihood of the courts declaring it as such, they have cheekily set bait for the judicial officers by including them in the proposed amendments so that the Judicial Service Commission (JSC) composed of the judges and magistrates can set salaries for Judicial officers."
