Excerpt from "Exposing the Scars"-- Available this Fall ************************************ He runs the gun along the center of my chest, stopping just above the zipper of my pants, then pulls it away from me. Once he secures the gun back behind him he brings his hands to my neck slowly, stroking my skin lovingly. I instantly feel sick to my stomach. His large, rough hands wrap easily around my slender neck and he starts to apply pressure. Oh god, no no no! As his hands tighten around my neck, black specks obscuring my vision along the edges. I will soon slip into unconsciousness, completely at his mercy. My father leans down towards my face, foam forming at the corners of his mouth when he harshly whispers, “You are a whore just like your mother was. And you will die a whore’s death like she did”.
