Excerpts from the book: The rain suddenly got worse. The droplets became drops. The wind changed its course. A bizarre tension engulfed in Seema’s face. She got concerned. We got closer. We held our hands tightly firmed. We whispered almost nothing. Just then a car rolled by us. The headlights glittered tiny drops trickling down Seema’s eyes. I looked at her, darkness echoed around us. I took my hands to her cheeks and wiped them. It was her tears. “Shona?” I almost cried taking her name. “Shona what happened?”. I crossed arms over her. She looked down breaking down all within a moment. “I can’t live without live without you!” She whispered in broken syllables. I got mad concerned about the reason for her treachered emotions. “Who said you to live without me? Who said you that?” Anger mixed with sadness sprouted. “No one can ever separate us. Today you’re with me. Tomorrow you shall be with your heart. We’ll never really gt separated.” Her cries were silent now. I could feel her breath and her heart beats. “You know Shona?” I looked at her, raised her buried face towards me. “If ever I could be a part of you, I would choose to be your tears.” The streaming moisture froze. Her eyes focused on mine. “Like a tear I would be conceived in your hearts, to born in your eyes, live on your cheeks and die on your lips.” She scrambled tears with laugh. Falling over my chest, she was sleepy as in a morning. “Can I kiss you?” I asked. She rejected moving her head. Something distracted her rest on me. She pulled out her cell. ‘Mamma Calling’ blinked in silent. Her eyes were red. “Han Mama,” She answered. I still was holding her. “I’m stuck mama.” Her breath smoothened my wet chest. “Han Mama.” She whispered this time and hanged the call. “Can you stay for at least some more time?” I pleaded though my words didnt seem to be mine. She raised her ankle, pushed her weight on to her toes and drove her lips closing her eyes. I too shut my eyes and followed the course. Within minutes she gently sided off. “I need to leave Rukshan!” Calmness reflected on her face. The sands of time had reached the bottom. She gave a tough gaze into my eyes, trudging over slowly. She then pulled herself out from my arms. She turned and walked away. Our hands started to slip apart. The fingers twirled. A thirst pinched. Steps by steps she took breaking the bond. Watching I stood, looking at her feet, at her and my world that just moved on.
